Honda Urban SUV Concept

Honda Urban SUV Concept

The all-new Honda Urban SUV Concept made its world debut at the 2013 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. The concept hints at the styling direction of an all-new small SUV scheduled to be launched in Japan at the end of 2013 and in the U.S. in 2014. The model will subsequently be introduced to the rest of the world.

The Urban SUV Concept represents the expansion of vehicles that will be based on Honda’s new Global Compact Series platform, which include the Honda Fit (Jazz in Europe) and the Honda City.

The Urban SUV Concept, designed to provide aesthetic cues for an all-new small SUV, showcases clean and sophisticated styling, dynamic lines and a strong stance. The small SUV will be rolled out across the world and will be powered by Honda’s fuel-efficient Earth Dreams Technology. The new model will utilise Honda’s original centre-tank layout that features on the Honda Jazz and will also incorporate Honda’s famous Magic Seats that enable a range of seating configurations for maximum versatility.

The small SUV will be manufactured at Honda’s newest North American plant near Celaya, Mexico.

Lamborghini Urus Concept

Lamborghini Urus Concept

Lamborghini introduced the Urus concept SUV at the 2012 Beijing Motor show. The Urus will churn out 440 kW of Power and at the same time will offer the lowest CO2 emissions relative to other comparable cars.

According to the press release the Urus “combines unique design, a fascinating interior and outstanding performance with versatility and everyday usability.” The Urus is a 4 seater with variable ground clearance, permanent all wheel drive. The interior is nothing but exceptional with innovative materials featuring carbon fibre technology.

The introduction of a luxurious SUV would enable Lamborghini entry into the luxury SUV segment which is doing quite well internationally. At this point Lamborghini would expect to sell 3000 units primarily in the USA, United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, The Middle East and China.

This is not the first time Lamborghini has ventured into the SUV market, in 1986 Lamborghini unveiled the LM002 and it remained in production until 1992.

As is Lamborghini’s tradition the Urus is named after a bull, the Urus is one of the large, wild ancestors of domestic cattle. Urus bulls could measure up to 1.8 meters at the shoulder.

The look of the Urus is unmistakable and echoes Lamborghini’s design ethos of creating pure  and minimalist technical sculptures and simply put we feel it looks significantly better looking than the likes of the Bentley EXP 9 F concept.
