Volkswagen Plans For Two New SUVs

As part of Volkswagens ambitions to overtake GM and Toyota in sales, Volkswagen plans to introduce two new SUVs over the coming years, according to VW spokesperson Peter Thul.

The two new models to be introduces will slot in above and below the Volkswagen Tiguan.

Volkswagen plans to introduce these two models in its bid to access new markets to offset the week demand in vehicles in Europe. The two new models seem to be targeted primarily at the American market.

The one model placed above the current Volkswagen Tiguan is said to provide a seven seater alternative to minivans and the model which will slot in below the Tiguan will be targeted at the growing supermini SUV market which seems to be blossoming in America.

Possibilities or hints as to how the model which will slot in below the current Tiguan is the VW Cross Coupe which was introduced at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show.
