Volkswagen Polo BlueGT

Volkswagen Polo BlueGT

The Polo BlueGT will be the first VW with cylinder deactivation also known as active cylinder management (ACT).

The 1.4-litre TSI engine delivers 103 kW of power and has a top speed of 210 km/h. The claimed fuel consumption is 4.7 l/100 km and drops down to 4.5 l/100 when the optional 7-speed dual clutch gearbox (DSG) is added.

This is due to the active cylinder management system in conjunction with VW BlueMotion Technology (Stop/Start system, battery regeneration).

The claimed acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is 7.9 seconds.

From a styling perspective the Polo BlueGT is distinguished from the rest of the Polo line-up by the multispoke 17-inch alloys, GT signatures at the front and rear (and additional ‘BLUEMOTION’ at the rear) and new tailpipe trim, Other exterior features such as the rear spoiler, rear bumper with diffuser, front bumper and fog lights including daytime running lights are borrowed from the Polo GTi whilst the the side sills and the front rain channels are borrowed from the Polo BlueMotion. The Polo Gti also has black painted radiator grille, R-line ventilation screen in the bumper and black door mirrors.

The ride height on the Polo BlueGT has also been reduced by 15mm to help improve the ride and handling dynamics.
