2013 Nissan GT-R Launched

Nissan today announced the launch of the 2013 model year Nissan GT-R which will go on sale in Japan from the 19th of November. The 2013 Nissan GT-R will be available in North America, Europe and subsequently other regions from January 2013 onwards.

Nissan touts that the 2013 model year Nissan GT-R has received enhancements through the vehicle for increased performance, improved ride and handling, and greater customisation.

Notable modifications to the Nissan GT-R include a claimed sharper mid-range engine response and improved high-end acceleration, increased body rigidity, and specification changes to the shock absorbers, springs and front stabiliser.

These changes came to effect as a result of additional information gained from this years participation in the Nürburgring 24-Hour race.

The improved engine response of the Nissan GT-R is achieved by the use og higher-output injectors, modification of the turbocharger bypass valve, and modifications to the oil pan.

Improvements to the ride and handling have been achieved by lowering the centre of gravity (CoG) by making changes to the shock absorbers and front stabiliser, the installation of cam on the front suspension to improve camber accuracy and maintainability of the alignment settings.

The torque carrying capacity of the driveshafts to the hub bearings has been increased to improve reliability in high-stress situations, such as track driving.

Three interior packages will be available for the 2013 Nissan GT-R; the Pure Edition, the Black Edition and the Premium Edition.
