Production At Toyota SA Halted

It seems that over the last few weeks Toyota South Africa has been struck by a few blows, namely in the form of labour strikes.

Today production at it’s Prospecton Plant in Durban stopped due to a labour strike which was embarked on by Members of the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) at one of it’s component suppliers, Toyota Boshoku.

Toyota Boshoku is an independent component supplier to Toyota South Africa Motors and supplies seats and door panels for use in all locally produced vehicles.

The matter will be dealt with by members of Toyota Boshoku South Africa and Numsa.
