New Generation Tata Indigo Manza Launched

Last week saw the launch of the new generation Tata Indigo Manza in South Africa. The Tata Indigo Manza has received a new platform a new body and a new interior. The car will be available in a range of 5 colours and will sell from R119995.

Two models will be introduced in South Africa, the base Tata Indigo Manza INI and the higher spec Manza IGNIS. The price starts atR119995, for the base version INI and goes up to R 134995, for the IGNIS.

Compared to the previous generation Manza, the new Manza is said to offer have more interior space. This is largely as a result of its increased dimensions.

The length of the Tata Indigo Manza is 4413mm ( 263mm longer), the width is 1703mm (83mm wider), the wheelbase is 2520mm (70mm longer),  and the height is 1550mm (10mm higher). The boot size has also benefited from the increase in body size leading to a 460 litre storage capacity an increase of 10 litres.

The range introduced to South Africa will be powered by a 66 kW (116Nm) Safire Petrol engine sourced from Fiat and with a claimed fuel consumption of 6.9l/100km. A diesel-powered engine is to follow at a later stage.

The cabin, oh the cabin, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves but here are a few things to point out. But on that note I also have to warn that their pictures do no elicit a lot of emotion, they are rather bland but at least they managed to convey the technical feel for the car.

The seats are two-tone fabric and I guess to some extent help to liven up the interior. The driver seat is height adjustable and combined with the adjustable rake on the steering wheel aid to accommodate a range of driver seating positions. The rear seats also come with a centre armrest which gives rear passengers the opportunity to ‘lounge.’

The infotainment system on the Tata Indigo Manza offers a USB port as well as Bluetooth connectivity. The multifunctional steering wheel houses controls for the infotainment system and help provide ease of access when driving.

The safety features in the Tata Indigo Manza include a collapsible steering column, Antilock Braking System and Dual Frontal Airbags amongst others.

The car comes with a factory warranty of 3 Years / 100,000 KMs, standard 3 year /unlimited KMs Roadside Assistance and 4 years / 100,000 KMs service plan.
