Jaguar F-Type Picture Leaked

The Jaguar F-Type is based on the concept CX-16 which was showcased at the 2011 Franfurt Motor Show and will officially debut at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.

However a picture of the Jaguar F-type leaked yesterday, thanks to photographer Chris Doane, which according to the website Motoring Authority, had the caption “Something interesting just popped up in my inbox…”

The picture showcases three convertible’s which seem to bear their resemblance to the CX-16, more especially at the front –end, indicating that Jaguar has done it’s best to keep the F-type as close as possible to the concept CX-16.

The F-Type will be launched as a convertible with a choice of three petrol engines: a 250kW and 280kW version of Jaguar’s all-new 3.0-litre supercharged V6, and a new derivative of its existing supercharged 5.0-litre V8. All will drive the rear wheels through an eight-speed transmission and will be equipped with Stop/Start technology.

From an engineering perspective Jaguar has spend quite a bit of time testing the Jaguar F-Type in the virtual environment, having run numerous computer simulation in an effort to reduce physical real world prototypes. Based on the teaser videos it has released over the last few months and the appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June of this year, it seems they have done a great job in developing the car.

Thanks to Motoring Authority for the headsup.
