AUDI Quattro Rumoured To Arrive In 2015?

The word on the street is that the Audi Quattro concept first introduced to the public in September 2010 might be introduced in 2015, just in time for the 35th anniversary of the Quattro. The original Quattro was introduced in 1980 at the Geneva Motor Show.

The internal name for the Quattro at Audi is Q35. The Audi Quattro is expected to slot in-between the Audi TT and the Audi R8 with competitors being the BMW M3 and Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe. It is estimated that about 10000 vehicles will be sold per year.

According to the AutoBild the Audi Quattro may be a hybrid between a coupe and an SUV namely the Audi A5 and the Audi Q5, offering a two door 4 seat arrangement.

The main distinguishing features of the Audi Quattro include shortened wheelbase and rear overhangs in comparison to the Audi A5, LED headlights and taillights, wide fender, a low flat roofline, 20-inch wheels in a 7-twin-spoke design, and a beefy front end with striking air inlets.

The Audi Quattro is expected to be powered by a 2.5 litre inline five-cylinder turbocharged engine, similar to that on the Audi TT RS, producing 300kW and capable of accelerating the Quattro from zero to 100km/h in 3.9 seconds.

The car looks great and we really look forward to its introduction and deep down there is a well of excitement building up especially when I think of the World Rally Championship (WRC) Audi Sport Quattro from the 1980’s driven by rally driver greats such as Walter Rohrl.
